A simple Dubai Christmas bake with pistachio and chocolate star wreath

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry

  • Pistachio spread

  • Hazelnut–chocolate spread

  • 1 egg (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven
    Heat the oven to the temperature indicated on the puff pastry package — usually about 225°C.

  2. Prepare the pastry
    Roll out the puff pastry sheet gently and cut it into two equal rectangles.

  3. Add the fillings
    Spread a layer of chocolate-hazelnut spread on one half.
    Add a layer of pistachio spread on top.

  4. Assemble
    Place the second pastry rectangle on top to sandwich the fillings.

  5. Cut into stars
    Use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut star pieces from the layered pastry.

  6. Shape the wreath
    Arrange the pastry stars on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, forming a circular wreath.

  7. Brush and bake
    Brush the stars with beaten egg.
    Place in the oven and start checking after 6 minutes to make sure the wreath doesn’t spread too much.
    Bake until golden brown.

  8. Finish
    Let the wreath cool slightly, then move it carefully onto a serving board.
    Decorate with rosemary sprigs, cranberries, and a dusting of powdered sugar.
