Don’t wait to feel ready, you won’t. The fastest way to grow is to say yes before you're 100% sure, and then figure it out as you go.

Leadership culture in the Nordics is predominantly structured and linear, and bringing more space into it would be beneficial. And what I mean by bringing more space is this space of not knowing, this space of curiosity, and this space where we ask one follow-up question instead of just knowing or answering or solving. That space could create an amazing opportunity for learning, for diverse opinions, and really hearing about weak signals that could really benefit the company as a whole, but also help leaders understand what is blocking our individuals and teams from flourishing.

Leaders deliver results. Great leaders make more leaders, not followers. They have a servant mindset, acting with integrity, transparency and authenticity. Great leaders make sure their team members work well together, they help strengthen each one’s strengths, and they make sure individual weaknesses are not in the way of reaching the agreed goals.

What I most enjoy about my work is the possibility to work with amazing people, both Cevian colleagues as well as boards and management teams of our target companies. I have been with Cevian for 15 years now, but I continue to learn every day from these professionals, and I hope I can continue to do it for the coming 15 years as well.

Like I was a failure for letting some members go.

The hardest part is to put yourself in the position of the person being laid off – or trying to emotionally separate yourself from the emotional part. You shouldn’t do either though – it’s ok and even good to feel sad/bad, it let’s you know you have a heart.

I have never laid off a person without a compelling reason – and I have always honestly told them what the situation and the reality is. I believe it’s the most humane thing to do to be upfront and real and not make up excuses – excuses are always bad.
