Tiina Kerttula, senior legal counsel at Alma Media, will take over as general counsel on January 1, 2027, succeeding Mikko Korttila following his retirement.
The move marks the first management team change at the owner of Kauppalehti and Talouselämä since 2023, based on Listeds data.
Korttila, 63, has led legal affairs, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate development since 2007 and will step down in early 2027 under his executive agreement. As part of the transition, responsibility for corporate planning will move to Group Finance before the end of 2026, the media company announced today.
The leadership change marks the end of nearly two decades in the role for Korttila. During his tenure, the company evolved from a domestic media business into an international digital media and services group operating across 10 European countries.
Kerttula, 45, has been with the Finland-based Alma Media, a provider of digital media, marketplaces, and services, since 2011. She has held several legal roles, most recently as senior legal counsel, and previously worked as an attorney-at-law.
“Tiina has strong experience and solid expertise in the relevant areas of law required for the role,” said President and CEO Kai Telanne, while thanking Korttila for his long-standing contribution to the company’s transformation.
