The OMX Helsinki 25 index rose nearly 4% over the past week, with industrials and telecom stocks leading the charge while a handful of consumer-facing names lagged.
Nokia was among the standout gainers, climbing 9.95% over five days. The telecommunications equipment maker, which supplies 5G network infrastructure and related services, extended its strong run and is now up around 16% since the start of the year.
Lifting equipment group Konecranes advanced 7.87%. The company provides cranes and material handling solutions for ports and factories. Elevator and escalator manufacturer Kone added 4.67%, while marine and energy technology firm Wärtsilä rose 5.41%.
Financials also supported the index. Nordea Bank, the region’s largest lender, gained 3.61%, and insurer Sampo rose 3.08%. Steelmaker SSAB was up 3.01%, and renewable fuels producer Neste climbed 2.75%.
On the losing side, tire maker Nokian Renkaat dropped 6.27%, marking the steepest five-day decline among the large caps. Chemical company Kemira fell 3.42%, while forestry group Stora Enso lost 2.75%. Retailer Kesko slipped 2.51%, and pulp and paper producer UPM-Kymmene declined 2.36%. IT services company Tietoevry also edged lower, down 2.30%.
Despite the mixed performance, the benchmark index was last up 0.63% on the day at 6,113.90 points, hovering near its 52-week high and reflecting continued resilience in Finland’s blue-chip stocks.
