Amid declining paper mail volumes and rising parcel deliveries, Posti is updating its operations with the Astra program, which focuses on combining separate distribution networks into one unified system in Finland. By merging postal and parcel delivery operations and aligning support functions, the goal is to create synergies, reduce costs, and achieve about EUR 40 million in efficiency savings by 2029.

The Astra program also brings production, procurement, real estate, HSEQ, and ICT and digitalization under the same umbrella, with Director of ICT and Digitalization Petteri Naulapää set to report to Eskola.

“The long-term objective is to respond to the accelerating market transformation and ensure competitiveness,” said President and CEO Antti Jääskeläinen.
