Spinnova’s stock rose sharply to €0.51 on this morning, up 18% intraday, reflecting renewed investor optimism as the company moves closer to restarting production at its Woodspin demo factory.
The rally follows today’s news that trial runs are beginning, marking a critical step in scaling the company’s wood-based textile fiber technology. The trials will focus on improving efficiency and fiber quality, two factors that have constrained commercialization so far. The company's goal is to restart production on a larger scale this year.
“Our aim is to proceed with the ramp up of the demo facility step by step,” said CEO Janne Poranen, describing the trials as “an important step towards starting actual production.”
Spinnova now controls the full production chain after acquiring its demo facilities in 2025. This gives the company greater oversight of both fiber production and the preparation of microfibrillated cellulose, its key raw material.
Spinnova is a Finnish textile technology company that produces fiber from wood pulp and waste without harmful chemicals. Its process uses little water, generates minimal CO2, and creates biodegradable, recyclable material that feels like natural fibers such as cotton.
