The OMX Helsinki 25 index edged slightly higher over the past five days, rising about 0.9%, with gains led by energy and telecom companies while several industrial and materials firms lagged behind.
Renewable fuels producer Neste was the strongest performer of the week, climbing 9.9%. The Finnish company is one of the world’s largest producers of renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel, and its shares outpaced the broader market during the period. Utility company Fortum, which focuses on power generation and energy services in the Nordic region, also posted a solid gain of 7.5%.
Telecom equipment maker Nokia added 7.2% during the week. The company, known globally for its network infrastructure and 5G technology, continued to see steady investor interest.
On the downside, stainless steel producer Outokumpu led the decliners, dropping 8.2% over the five-day period. Tire manufacturer Nokian Renkaat, known for its winter tires designed for harsh Nordic conditions, fell 7.0%.
Real estate company Kojamo, which owns and manages rental apartments across Finland, slid 5.8%, while Hiab, a maker of load-handling equipment used in logistics and construction, declined 4.8%.
Overall, the Helsinki benchmark showed modest resilience, with energy and telecom stocks helping offset weakness in metals, manufacturing, and property shares.
