Lamor Corporation has appointed Fred Larsen, one of the Finnish company’s founders, as its chief executive officer again, while former CEO Johan Grön moves to head Lamor Recycling Oy, sharpening the group’s focus on recycled plastic-based circular oil alongside its core environmental businesses.
“The Board is very pleased that Fred Larsen is prepared to return to operational leadership,” Mika Ståhlberg, chair of Lamor’s board, said in a press release today. “His long experience with Lamor and the industry supports the execution of the company’s strategy and continued improvement of profitability.”
Larsen said he would focus on growing sales and strengthening profitability in environmental protection, soil remediation, and restoration. Grön, who will continue in Lamor’s group leadership, said he is “excited about the opportunity to focus full time on leading Lamor Recycling,” as preparations for the Kilpilahti plant advance. The plant is Finland's first industrial-scale plant for the production of circular oil from recycled plastic.
A citizen of Finland and Denmark, Larsen previously served as CEO from 2010 to 2019 and has held multiple long-standing board roles within the group and family investment companies. He used to be the vice chair of the Lamor board but will be replaced by another member: Petter Larsen, CEO of the Larsen Family Corporation Oy.
