E-commerce pioneer Verkkokauppa.com Oyj announced today it has appointed Ville Sammalkorpi as chief strategy and technology officer and a member of the management team.

Sammalkorpi will start in the role on March 2, 2026, reporting to CEO Panu Porkka. Sammalkorpi succeeds Jyrki Tulokas, who will leave the company as previously announced at the end of January 2026 to join another organization.

Sammalkorpi brings nearly 25 years of experience in technology leadership, digital transformation, and strategy across retail, mobile communications, and financial services. He joins from Greenstep, where he serves as a partner in technology and development. His previous roles include senior positions at SOK, OP Financial Group, and Nokia. Sammalkorpi holds a Master of Science in Engineering Physics from the Helsinki University of Technology.

CEO Panu Porkka said, “We are delighted to welcome Ville to our management team,” adding that his experience “will be instrumental in further strengthening our capabilities and driving innovation.” 

Verkkokauppa.com delivered strong third-quarter 2025 results, with revenue rising 14.9% to EUR 131.2 million and operating profit surging to EUR 7.2 million (0.1), per an earlier interim report.
