Schaar became CFO of the stainless steel producer in June 2024 after more than a decade with the company in senior roles, including chief procurement officer and head of group raw material procurement. Earlier in his career, he worked in transaction advisory services at EY.

Reflecting on the award, Schaar said on LinkedIn today: “It’s an honor to be named the top CFO in Finland. Alongside our ongoing work to maintain a strong balance sheet and execute our new strategy, EVOLVE, this recognition reflects the dedication of many colleagues at Outokumpu who work every day in service of our investors.”
