Honkarakenne Oyj announced today that Magnus Hindström, former vice president, Kerto LVL sales at Metsä Wood, will become the Finnish log house builder’s next president and CEO on August 3, 2026.

Hindström succeeds long-serving President and CEO Marko Saarelainen, who will remain in the role until the transition date and then continue as CEO of the company’s Japanese subsidiary, as previously announced last week.

Hindström brings experience in driving growth and transformation across domestic and international markets. He said that “going forward, we will focus even more strongly on execution, strengthening our market position, and fully leveraging the strengths of the company’s brand, design, and production together with our personnel.”

Chairman Timo Kohtamäki said: “Magnus’s strong experience and proven track record in building international business are extremely valuable in accelerating the growth of Honkarakenne’s exports.”

In 2025, Honkarakenne reported net sales of EUR 37.2 million, up 1.2% year-on-year, while adjusted operating profit declined to EUR -3.9 million from EUR -2.3 million.
