Listeds Pulse – Your Weekly Executive Brief for 15 September 2025

By Helene Auramo

Hello curious minds,

Monday is here again, which means it’s time for Listeds Pulse Nordic!

This is your weekly Monday briefing on the most relevant leadership shifts shaping the corporate landscape in Finland. We are also almost done collecting the moves in the Swedish market, so stay tuned. :)

This edition covers changes between September 1 – September 7, 2025. We tracked 5 management changes and 2 board changes across Finnish listed companies.

This week brought only a handful of leadership updates, but a few are worth highlighting.

The board moves

Only some internal changes were reported, with no major shifts.

The management team moves

Verkkokauppa.com

Verkkokauppa.com has been in the spotlight in the Finnish media after tightening its remote work policy. Office employees, who until now have been able to work from home with considerable freedom, are now required to come into the office two days a week. The change has sparked an unusual form of protest, reports Helsingin Sanomat: a notable group of employees have updated their LinkedIn profiles to show they are open to new opportunities, and some have explicitly pointed to the stricter policy as the reason. The case reflects the growing friction in Finnish companies over what hybrid work should look like in the post-pandemic era.

At the same time, the company announced a leadership change. Anne-Mari Paapio has been appointed Chief Supply Chain Officer, succeeding Nina Anttila. Paapio brings a long track record in supply chain and operations leadership, with recent roles at Valio Aimo, Boston Consulting Group, Kesko, and earlier positions at Suomen Lähikauppa, Bonnier Books Finland, and Nokia.

Citycon

Citycon has undergone a sudden leadership change as Eshel Pesti has been appointed CEO, replacing Oleg Zaslavsky. Pesti brings extensive international experience, having most recently served as CEO of G City Europe in Poland from 2023 to 2025. Before that, he spent fifteen years as General Manager of Atrium and G City Europe in Russia, and earlier held leadership positions as GM of AFI Europe in Latvia and GM in Abuja, Nigeria

The speed of this transition is noteworthy. The sudden departure of Zaslavsky suggests possible misalignment or performance concerns that could not wait for a gradual handover. At the same time, Pesti’s immediate appointment points to succession planning that had already been in motion. By announcing a seasoned leader at the same time as the exit, the board signaled a desire to minimize uncertainty and reassure investors.Because Citycon is closely tied to G City, the Israeli real estate group led by Chaim Katzman, the change looks less like an open search and more like a planned handover within the same ownership group.
